#Wirecast for mac aspect ration update#
We are currently working on a solution to resolve the aspect ratio issue and hope to have it in an upcoming release / update of Wirecast 7. I have forwarded you request to our Wirecast engineering team. Thank you for contacting Wirecast support.

X (width) and Y (height) that can be independently adjusted as needed. Here's a BETTER idea that returning "Respect Aspect Ratio". If a scale value of 100% is entered manually, then the video scales Proportionately, thus cropping the right and left sides of the video and displaying round items slightly ovaled horizontally. If the 'Scale to Fit' button is never clicked on a new video shot using NTSC SD video, then the video has black margins top and bottom. not by a lot, but round items are a little ovaled vertically. Once the 'Scale to Fit' button is clicked, entering a scale value manually causes the video layer to scale vertically more than it does horizontally, thus causing the video layer to be vertically stretched. That is, upon closing WC and running again (pref set to open last used project), ALL shots using the NTSC SD video display with black letterbox-like margins top and bottom. PLUS, the vertical scale is NOT being saved in the Wirecast project file. Instead, it does NOT scale non-square pixel sources correctly, leaving black margins around the video layer. This might not be a problem IF the 'Scale to Fit' button actually functioned properly. How do I disproportionately scale 720x480 non-square pixel SD source video to fit a 640x480 square pixel Canvas when the "Respect Aspect Ratio" check box in video transform properties has been REMOVED? Submitted and entered as Case #00422638 Return "Respect Aspect Ratio" Resetting/checking/fixing the shots using this NTSC video source is something I DO NOT want to have to do each and every session.

As soon as I change the Scale value, even by 1%, the source is again rescaled vertically by an excessive amount, but, as before, it isn't being saved in the project and the shot will again come back with black margins top and bottom. more like 105% vertically to the 91% horizontal.Īnd then, after saving the project, closing WC, and relaunching, the source is shown with black margins top and bottom, however, the set Scale value of 91% is still in the layer's property sheet. The Scale value is automatically set to 89% and the position values are 0, but as soon as I manually enter a Scale value, say 91%, which is enough to get rid of the black margins, the source is scaled MORE in the vertical direction than the horizontal, NOT equally in both directions. there are thin black edges/margins on all sides with the right side a bit thicker. If I click the 'Scale to Fit' button, the source is NOT scaled to fit.

I have a 720x480 NTSC 0.9 pixel aspect ratio source and a 640x480 square pixel canvas. Where did the shot layer property's 'ignore aspect ratio' checkbox go?
